What is STRIDE?

STRIDE is Manchester Community College's single parent and displaced homemaker program. STRIDE is funded thought the Carl Perkins Federal grant and provides academic and career advising as well as stipends for textbooks and tuition.

Any single parent or displaced homemaker enrolled in the college is welcome to join STRIDE and attend the support meetings. To be considered for stipends from STRIDE, a student needs to apply and qualify for Federal Financial Aid. Another requirement for receiving STRIDE stipends is a willingness to attend and participate in monthly group meetings where pertinent information for single parent students at the college and within the State of New Hampshire is shared and discussed. These meetings also give those attending an opportunity to network with each other and share information or experiences that can be helpful to the unique needs of single parent students.

The fall semester stride meetings are as follows:

  • Monday, October 27th at 12:00p.m.
  • Thursday, October 30th at 5:30 p.m.
  • Monday, February 2nd at 12:00p.m.
  • Thursday, February 5th at 5:30 p.m.
