Pen & Ink

Woodworking - Router Workshop

Learn to use the router, the primary tool in modern woodworking. Used in combination with various router bits, tables, jigs, and more, the router will open new doors of creativity, efficiency and versatility for you. (You will receive a materials list in the first class.)

Introduction to Basic Computing with Windows XP

Learn to use and maintain your personal computer, manage folders and files, format text, use the calculator, customize Windows XP, and use the Internet.

Microsoft Office Excel Level 1

Learn basic Excel skills, such as selecting and entering data, formatting and modifying worksheets, performing calculations, developing and printing workbooks, and customizing layouts.

Microsoft Office Excel Level 2

Expand your Excel skills by learning to use templates, work with charts, insert graphics, use advanced formulas, and sort and filter data.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint

Learn to create presentations, format text slides, add tables and charts, add images, and prepare your presentation.

Microsoft Office Word Level 1

Learn basic skills for Microsoft Word, such as creating and editing documents, formatting text and paragraphs, proofing documents, and adding tables and graphics.

Microsoft Office Word Level 2

Learn to manage lists, create custom tables and charts, customize formatting and graphics, create templates and manage mail merge.

eBay Series

Basics of Selling on eBay

Learn how to get started on eBay, create effective listings, price your items, ensure a smooth transaction, and ship your products easily. Also, learn how to avoid eBay fees when possible, and how to increase sales. You may purchase the Student Guide (optional) from your instructor for an additional $20. One C.E.U. credit is also available as an option. Your instructor will provide information during the first class.

Beyond the Basics of Selling and Buying on eBay

This course is intended for people who have completed Basics of Selling on eBay and want to start or expand an eBay business. Learn more advanced information about resources, listing tools, business plans, market research, sales analysis, and marketing your eBay business. You may purchase the Student Guide (optional) from your instructor for an additional $20. One C.E.U. credit is also available as an option. Your instructor will provide information during the first class.

Residential Interior Decorating

These two 5-week classes are the first segment of five classes leading to a Certification of Completion in Residential Interior Decorating. Other classes will include: a cultural history of furnishings; introduction to the business side of interior decorating; and a capstone project class to add to or start your portfolio. These classes may be taken singularly for specific consideration or taken sequentially for more intensive study.

The addition of our AUTO CAD course, offered for non-credit throughout the year, is recommended to complement the Residential Interior Decorating courses.

The following is a list of the requirements for the first class and each following class. (You will not need a textbook for the first course, but we will need one for the second course.)

1. One T-square: Alvin "C" series or equal, transparent edge professional t-square, wood with acrylic see-through edges, 36" or 42" (preferred)
2. One Scale Ruler: Pickett, #235A (architectural 12")
3. One mechanical pencil/lead holder: Alvin #DA or equal to hold both 2MM and 3MM leads
4. Refill leads for the above: one set each of "HB", " B", "H" and "F" leads

Use Color and Texture to Effect!

This is the second of five courses in the Residential Interior Decorating certificate program. The creative use of color theory and your selection of materials can dramatically enhance a space. Identification of materials, their use, and the understanding of color combinations will be taught. Learn the language of designers, so that can successfully communicate your vision to vendors and clients.
