A class focusing on answering the why of grammar uses, and explaining the little details of the English language. The class will use reading and writing exercises.
In this introductory course students receive instructions and extensive practice in speaking, listening, and pronunciation. Grammar is taught in the content of speaking and in the context of reading materials. Perquisite: a qualifying score on the ESL Placement Test, or ESL-Beginning 1 with a passing grade.
Develop your speaking and listening skills by participating in conversations, and enhance your reading, writing and grammar skills with reading and writing exercises. Prerequisite: A qualifying score on the ESL Placement Test.
Continue to develop your speaking, listening and grammar skills by participating in conversations, expanding your vocabulary, and develop reading, writing and learning strategies. Prerequisite: A qualifying score on the ESL Placement Test.
Develop intermediate communication and reading skills, expand your spoken language and listening comprehension skills, and learn correct grammar. Prerequisite: A qualifying score on the ESL Placement Test.
Expand your spoken language and continue to develop intermediate communication skills. Further develop reading and listening comprehension skills through class discussions and by completing assignments as well as written and oral reports. Strengthen grammar as you practice all language skills. Prerequisite: a qualifying score on the ESL Placement Test. No class: 5/4, 5/5.
