4. Using Blackboard

Blackboard is used as your online / hybrid course environment. It is also used in many face-to-face classes.

What's My Login and Password?

There are two ways to determine your Blackboard username:

Login to SIS. (If you don't know how, go to 2. Getting Setup in SIS). Select "Personal Information", then "View Blackboard Username".
Or you can figure it out yourself. Your username is the first digit of your first name, your full last name, and the last five (5) digits of your college ID. (For example, Adam Davis' Blackboard username is "adavis34567".)

Your Blackboard password is the last six (6) digits of your College ID number.

How Do I Get to Blackboard?

To access Blackboard, you can either choose "Blackboard" in the Quick Links drop-down menu or click on "Current Students" then Online Resources. Select "Logon to Blackboard". Click on "User Login", then enter your Blackboard username and default password.

Now What?

Explore Blackboard, and check out the information your instructor has posted for your classes. (Select a course in the "My Courses" box.) Instructors will often keep copies of their syllabus, assignments, and other course documents on Blackboard so that you have constant access to classroom content.

Changing Your Blackboard Password

Blackboard does not automatically prompt you to change your password, and you are not required to change it. If you want to change your password, follow these instructions.

If you want to change your password, first login to Blackboard.
Select "Personal Information" in the top leftside of the screen, under the Welcome notice.
Select "Change Password" on the Personal Information page.
On the Change Password page, type your new password two times. Then hit "Submit" in the bottom left.
If successful, Blackboard will let you know that your user information has been updated. Click "OK".
Select the "My CCSNH" tab on the top to return to Blackboard's homepage.
