Student Eligibility

To receive aid from the student aid programs, you must:

  • Have financial need, with the exception of some loan programs.
  • Have a high school diploma, or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Be accepted and enrolled as a matriculated student.
  • Be working toward a degree or a certificate in a financial aid eligible program. Check with the Financial Aid Department to determine if your program is eligible.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  • Have a valid social security number.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress:
    The Higher Education Act (HEA) and the Department of Postsecondary Community Technical Education require that students maintain satisfactory progress in the course of study they are pursuing in order to receive financial aid under Title IV of the HEA. Satisfactory progress is based on quality and quantity of performance.
  • Return all required documentation to the Financial Aid Office.
