Admissions Process for International Students

International students who are interested in attending MCC and seeking F-1 student status must follow the instructions below to complete the admission process. Please read the instructions carefully.

  1. Some programs are very competitive with limited enrollment, so contact an admissions counselor early to discuss program availability.
  2. Complete an Application for Admission Adobe PDF.
    Send your application with the non-refundable application fee (a check for $10 USD made payable to "Manchester Community College") to:

  3. Program-Specific Requirements: After completing the above two requirements, check to see if your program of study has any additional requirements. These are outlined in the program descriptions.
  4. Request official English translations of your secondary and/or higher education transcripts to be sent to MCC. They should include a listing of all the courses you have taken, the grading system and grades earned.
  5. Submit official scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or IELTS, if English is not your first language. (For the TOEFL, you need a minimum score of 61 (Internet-based), 173 (computer-based) or 500 (paper-based) for admission.

  6. Submit a copy of your biographical page from a current passport to the Office of Admissions.
  7. Submit a Certificate of Finances. A bank or financial institution will provide you with a statement on official letterhead, which demonstrates that you or your sponsor have sufficient funds to cover out-of-state tuition, fees, books, health insurance and living expenses for at least one year of study. The letter must be in English, , must indicate the date the account was opened, amounts must be in US dollar equivalent currency, the amount currently available, and be signed by a bank official.
    If you have dependents (spouse and/or children):
    You must demonstrate that you have additional funds to cover living expenses for all dependents for at least one year. You must provide copies of the biographical pages of the valid passports of all dependents.
  8. If someone else will be financially responsible for you while you are in college, submit a signed affidavit or letter of support Adobe PDF from that person. The letter must be in English, notarized, include your name and your sponsor’s name, and the amount of money designated for your educational and living expenses.
  9. Submit an International Address Form Adobe PDF to provide the college with your address in your home country.
  10. If you are applying for F-1 student status and already live in the United States, submit appropriate immigration documents that indicate your current status, such as a visa.
  11. Transfer Students:
    If you are transferring from another SEVIS-approved institution, you must also submit a copy of all previous I-20’s issued, a copy of your I-94 card, and a completed Eligibility Confirmation Form Adobe PDF for School Transfer for F-1 students.
  12. Acknowledgement Letter:
    After completing all the steps, the Office of Admissions will contact you regarding your status or if any additional information is required. If you are accepted, you will receive further instructions on how to obtain your F-1 visa.

You must be accepted into a program of study and all required documentation must be received before the college will issue an I-20 form.

Financial Aid:

International students are not eligible for federal financial aid and must pay out-of-state tuition and fees.

In order to maintain F-1 student status, you must register for at least 12 credit hours each semester, except during the summer term.
